How to Search for a Sevier County Warrant
Utah's Statewide Warrants file is the public starting point for a name check. BCI links to it and explains that courts send warrant information through the statewide system. It covers warrants from more than one court level, including traffic failure-to-appear cases, but updates depend on the court's entries. Follow a possible match to its issuing court.
Begin with the name shown on the citation or notice. If you find a possible match, save the court name and case or citation number. A result is a lead, not the court's final status. The clerk can say whether the record is active, served, recalled, or subject to a hearing.
- Open the Utah BCI gateway and choose its free statewide warrant-search service.
- Enter first and last name; add a middle initial if useful and complete the reCAPTCHA check.
- Use Xchange to find the public case by jurisdiction, case type, name, birth date, or citation.
- Call the issuing court for status and next steps; use CORIS only for a Sevier Justice Court citation or case account.
- If the question is about a sheriff or county record, ask the Clerk/Auditor about GRAMA; a lawyer can advise on a possible warrant.
Utah BCI's Sevier County Name Search
The public form is narrow by design. Its visible fields are not the same as the richer controls in the internal UCJIS manual, so do not assume the public page accepts a warrant number, birth date, court dropdown, or alias query. Use the official gateway rather than a third-party result page.
The Utah Department of Public Safety's BCI warrant page links to the public service. It describes a free name search and the need to check the court for a current answer.
The gateway is statewide, while the court named in the result controls the local case.
Sevier County Warrant Search Fields
BCI's public form uses a short identity check before it returns a statewide search. It does not promise that a common name produces a unique match. Compare spelling and the issuing court, then use court-case details to distinguish records. Do not read a public control from an internal law-enforcement manual as proof that every person can use it.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Name | Text | Required | Enter the given name used by the court. |
| Last Name | Text | Required | Check spelling against the citation or notice. |
| Middle Initial | Text | Optional | Can help distinguish a common name; no full birth date field was confirmed. |
| reCAPTCHA | Challenge | Required to continue | Completes the public form's anti-automation step. |
| Continue | Button | Action | Submits the name search; result availability depends on court-fed data. |
Why Sevier County Search Results Need a Court Check
A search result and a court case are related but not identical. BCI searches a name in the statewide warrants file. Xchange helps locate a public court case. Sevier Justice Court's CORIS lookup searches a citation or case account, not a person's name. Each can return nothing for a different reason, such as an update delay, wrong jurisdiction, a record restriction, or a citation that has not yet been filed.
Utah Courts notes that public records omit sealed, expunged, and juvenile material. CORIS says a citation is generally filed within five days, though manual law-enforcement filings can take longer. The clerk named by the case can sort out a no-result without guessing.
For case-search controls and result labels, see the Xchange help page.
Sevier Justice Court CORIS Uses a Citation or Case Number
CORIS is a separate route for a Sevier County Justice Court account, not a statewide or city-wide warrant list. Select the court and enter the citation or court case number; the field accepts up to ten characters. The payment screen can identify an account, but it does not show that a judge has recalled a warrant. Check the case number and court before relying on the result.
The Sevier County CORIS page displays the court selector and number field. Use the clerk for status or filing questions that the account lookup cannot answer.
A payment account is a pointer to the court file, not a warrant decision.
What a Sevier County Warrant Search Returns
Public systems show different parts of a record. BCI may identify a warrant and court; Xchange may show the underlying case and proceedings; CORIS can show a case or payment account. No reliable Sevier warrant-number pattern or universal bond field was confirmed. Use the court and case identifiers as routing clues, then ask for status and instructions directly.
| Identifier | Format not confirmedUse the case or citation number shown by the court tool. |
|---|---|
| Charge or case type | Xchange can show a public case summary; it may not expose all documents. |
| Issuing court | Use this name to find the clerk who can verify the warrant. |
| Bond or release | Confirm current terms with the issuing court; no Sevier amount is assumed here. |
| Status | A screen can lag behind a recall or service event; request clerk confirmation. |
Reading a Sevier County Court Case in Xchange
Xchange can search by jurisdiction and search type, with fields such as case number, last name, first name, case type, search scope, birth date, citation number, citation location, and date range. Choose the court and case type carefully. Search results are capped at 500, and document access can involve a fee; free public terminals are available at courthouses.
The Xchange entry page offers guest, paid, and registered access. This image shows its entry choices, not a real case.
Save the court and case number, then call that court for a live warrant answer.
Where Sevier County Warrants Are Checked
Sixth District Court in Richfield handles felony and class A misdemeanor files; its published contact is 845 E 300 N, 435-896-2700. Sevier County Justice Court handles many traffic, infraction, and class B or C cases at 250 N Main, Suite 124, 435-893-0461. The court page lists weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays. Salina or Aurora citations should be routed to the city court named on the document.
The county Sheriff's Office is a service and custody contact, but no public warrant roster or dedicated warrant line was found. The Clerk/Auditor GRAMA page can route a request for releasable county or sheriff records; the issuing court remains the source for case status and recall.
A Sevier County No-Result Needs Follow-Up
If BCI shows no match, check the court name on the citation and search Xchange with the right jurisdiction. For a Sevier County Justice Court traffic account, use CORIS by citation or case number. If the question is about a county-held record, contact the Clerk/Auditor about GRAMA. These steps cover different records; repeating the same name query does not resolve a missing filing or a restricted case.
The county's Justice Court page links to CORIS and the state search. A no-result can also mean a manual citation has not arrived yet, so ask the issuing clerk before treating it as cleared.
Access and Restricted Warrants
GRAMA governs public access to Utah government records, while court records follow court access rules. Juvenile cases, sealed or expunged material, and personal identifiers can be withheld or redacted. Rule 40 search-warrant materials may have a different public timeline from an arrest-warrant case. A missing record may be restricted or held outside the chosen search.
Key Rules:
Sealed or expunged records may not appear in Xchange or another public search.
Juvenile files are handled separately and are not part of the public Xchange search.
A blank result cannot settle whether a restricted, newly entered, or differently scoped record exists.
